Strong Runs at Raceway 7 and Sharon
Conneaut. OH…..as July came to an end Russ Dunn and the Triple Duce Race Team were looking to keep up the mometum after their first win of the year. Five points evening remain and Dunn as he has done all season had another top five performance finishing fouth in the 20 lap feature.
Starting tenth in the first of two heat races Dunn used all 8 laps to advance to third and into the re-draw for the feature.Starting sixth in the feature the * 222 march forward would be hindered by two caution before the first lap was completed. As racing resumed the next seventeen laps went green and now had Dunn into 4th as the final caution flew on lap. On the restart Dunn tried hard to make it into the top ten but settled for a fouth place finish.
Hartford,OH…..car owner Jim Clinger elected not to go the E-Mod special at State Line Speedway and decided to bring the * 222 to Sharon Speedway. The decision turned out to be a good one as Dunn came home second in the 15 lap feature.
Starting on the pole in the second of the eight lap heat races saw Dunn finish second and make it into the re-draw. The re-draw had Dunn starting seventh and had Russ advancing to fourth during several early cautions and up to second on lap six. Dunn had two more chances to catch the leader but single file restarts and the leader having the perfered line on a slick track Dunn would have to settle for a second place finish.
Dunn and the Triple Duce Racing will be at Raceway 7 on August 9th as they continue to be the points leader in the E-Mod division.
