Dunn-Olivieri Racing

The 2009 racing season was a season of change for Dunn-Olivieri Racing. A new Shaw E-Mod and the opportunity to drive one of the two Clinger Built E-mods would test the fourth year race team. Russ Dunn would run a total of twenty-nine races, seventeen in the #47 Dunn-Olivieri E-Mod and twelve in the *222 Clinger E-Mod.

The race team as it has done during the past two years has hit the road racing at tracks in New York (Stateline) Pennsylvania (Eriez, Lernerville, McKean, Mercer, PPMS, Tri-City) Ohio (Midway, Raceway7, Sharon) West Virginia (250, Tyler County). The Dunn-Olivieri race team also competed in in two traveling series, the Tri- State Modified Series and the United E-Mod Series (UEMS) where Dunn came away with a 5th place finish in the series points.

Dunn was a model of consistency once again during 2009 season in both cars. In twenty-nine races run Dunn finished in the top ten in 21 of the 29 starts, finishing only out side of the top six times with three of those did not finish (DNF).Of those 21 top tens, Dunn finished in the top five 19 times. Not running at a home track, Dunn was able to adapt to the tracks quickly picking up 10 heat race wins (4) Raceway 7 (2) Sharon, (1) Eriez, (1) McKean, (1) Midway, (1) 250. In addition Dunn had 2 feature wins (1) Raceway 7 and (1) Tri-City.

In a season that lasted over seven months Russ Dunn and the Dunn-Olivieri Race Team had a season most teams would only dream of a season of consistency, but over the last four years the script seams to be the same at the end of every year. Russ has the nickname “Showtime” displayed on the cars rear spoiler, perhaps the team should change it to “Mr. Consistency”
