October 10 – Midway Speedway

Crooksville, OH…..As the 2009 season enters its last month the Dunn-Olivieri made the long tow to Midway Speedway to take part in the $4000 Tri-State Modified race. A quality field of 40 modifieds were on hand to capture the top prize and to make the 21 car 40 lap feature.

Qualifing was used to set the four 10 lap heat races heat races. In the third group Dunn was on a strong run until he lightly tagged the turn four wall slowing his qualifing run. The result would have Dunn starting sixth in the third heat race. Dunn would move to fourth but miss but would miss the feature cut off as only the top three from each heat advances to the feature. This would be the first time this year the Dunn would have to run a B-Main. Dunn would take the lead at the start of 10 lap B-Main and never looking back leading all 10 laps ensuring a Dunn a spot. Starting 14th in the 40 lap feature, Dunn was working the lower groove on the and was up to 8th on lap ten when he felt something a miss in the motor and pulled off with a DNF and a 19th place finish.

The team will take a look at the engine problem this week as they get ready to head to Raceway 7 as part of their Halloween two day race special on October 16-17.
