Franklin, PA- Sunday night was the season opener for the Franklin 1/2 mile oval, and Dunn-Olivieri Racing was one of nineteen E-Mod teams from New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio in the pits.
The nineteen car field was split into two heat race with Dunn staring ninth in the first eight lap heat race. Not running for points at Tri-City , Dunn finished fifth to be eligible for the pill redraw. The fans draw for what position the field will start and an invert six had Dunn starting ninth for the 15 lap feature. The bit that was in the track was going away and over the first five laps Russ was only able to maintain his position when the races first caution came out on lap five. Running the high side of the track, Dunn was able to move to sixth when caution flew again on lap twelve. Needing a long green flag run to make the tire come in, two more caution on the same lap negated any opportunity Russ had and when the checkers flew a sixth place finish was the end result.
The next event for Dunn-Olivieri Racing will be Saturday May 10,2008 when the team travels to Sharon Speedway for their regular season opener.
